MERRY CHRISTMAS!! During this time of year, we recognize and remember. We recognize the birth of our Salvation, and we remember Jesus Christ's first sacrifice. Before He ever sacrificed His life on a cross to give us an opportunity to be reconciled with God the Father, Jesus sacrificed His seat in Heaven. Leaving the Father's side, He humbled Himself..."5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." (Philippians 2:5-8) Yes, the Prince of Heaven stepped out of paradise and into a scarred and broken world. He did this to show just how great His love is for us..."Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) And, we are grateful that the story is not over...9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:9-11) This Christmas please join with us in recognizing and remembering Jesus Christ's first sacrifice.
